In metallurgy, stainless steel is defined as an alloy steel with a minimum of 10% chromium content by mass. Stainless steel is corrosion resistant, because the chromium or other metals contained therein, has a great affinity for oxygen and reacts with it forming a passive layer, thus preventing corrosion of iron, which is oxidation.

What they have in common is that all steels the main component (element forming the alloy) is the iron, the addition of a small amount of carbon.

Stainless steels are used mainly in four types of markets:

  • Appliances: Large and small appliances for the home.
  • Automotive: Especially exhausts.
  • Construction: Buildings and furniture.
  • Industry: Food, chemicals and petroleum.

Its corrosion resistance, hygienic properties and aesthetic properties of stainless steel makes a very attractive material to meet various demands, such as the medical industry.

The recycling does not affect the quality, recycling helps preserve the environment, therefore, is 100% recyclable.
