Copper

This is a transition metal color and gloss metallic red with silver and gold, is part of the so-called family of copper, characterized by being the best conductor of electricity.

Thanks to its high electrical conductivity, ductility and malleability, has become the most widely used material for manufacturing electrical cables and other electrical and electronic components. It is the third most used metal in the world, behind steel and aluminum. It is resistant to corrosion and oxidation.

Applications and uses of Copper

The industrial use of copper is very high. It is an important material in many economic activities.

  • Copper Metallic: The pure copper is used principally in the manufacture of electrical cables, both industrial and residential use.
  • Electricity and Telecommunications: Copper conductors are used in many electrical equipment such as generators, motors and transformers.
  • Means of transport: The copper is used in several components of cars and trucks, mainly radiators, brakes and bearings, plus of course the wires and electric motors. Trains also require large amounts of copper in its construction.
Copper is involved in the matter of a lot of different and varied components of all types of machinery, such as caps, trims, etc.. It is part of the elements of costume jewelry, lamps and fluorescent tubes, boiler, electromagnets, wind musical instruments, microwave.

Copper is one of the few materials that do not degrade or lose its chemical or physical properties in the recycling process. Can be recycled an unlimited amount of times without losing its properties, it is impossible to distinguish whether an object is made of copper from primary sources or recycled.
